Tori Ellison is a visual artist who has exhibited in eleven states and abroad, at venues including Portland Art Museum, Paris Gibson Square Museum, Seattle Art Museum Gallery, the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, Winston Wachter Gallery (Seattle), and New York University’s Grey Art Gallery. She designed five operas for the Fisher Ensemble in Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York, and is collected by Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen, Jordan Schnitzer, the cities of Seattle and Inglewood, CA, Janine Wang (C.C. Wang Collection, Metropolitan Museum of Art), and the Portland Art Museum, OR.
Ellison has been a film and art critic/interviewer for LA Weekly, Seattle Weekly, Seattle Times, The Oregonian, The Hollywood Reporter, and Artweek; edited books for Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, Abrams, and Rizzoli; and wrote and edited exhibition catalogs for Marylhurst University, OR and for Kristy Edmunds of PICA (now at CAP-UCLA). She was Director/Curator of the Hoffman Gallery, Oregon College of Art and Craft, taught at Pacific Northwest College of Art, and was guest lecturer/artist at Cornish College of the Arts, Portland State, Oregon State, and Marylhurst universities.
